Analog circuit observer blocks

چکیده
Analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits are rapidly becoming more complex. In addition to the traditional problems associated with testing ICs, such as limited controllability and observability, analog and mixed-signal test is vulnerable to measurement induced errors. Constraints on measuring analog signals signiicantly increase the complexity and cost of testers for such circuits. In this paper, we introduce a design for test technique for analog and mixed-signal circuits, analog circuit observer blocks (ACOBs). ACOBs are structures designed to reduce the need for precision in measuring analog signals during circuit test. The primary technique used is that of encoding the data in the circuit (only during the test phase). ACOBs potentially ooer a number of advantages over conventional oo-chip test techniques such as reduced tester complexity, smaller measurement induced errors and increased observability. ACOB schemes will necessarily have to be tailored to the type of circuit targeted. We present two ACOB schemes, one for the class of fully diierential circuits, the second for pipelined analog-to-digital converters. In both cases, the ACOB schemes are shown to ooer substantial beneets.

متن کاملModeling and Simulation of Substrate Noise in Mixed-Signal Circuits Applied to a Special VCO
The mixed-signal circuits with both analog and digital blocks on a single chip have wide applications in communication and RF circuits. Integrating these two blocks can cause serious problems especially in applications requiring fast digital circuits and high performance analog blocks. Fast switching in digital blocks generates a noise which can be introduced to analog circuits by the common su...
متن کاملNew Advances and Possibilities in Active Circuit Design
Operational amplifiers are important building blocks for analog circuit design. Unfortunately, their limited performance such as bandwidth, slew-rate etc. leads the analog designer to search other possibilites and other building blocks. As a result, new current-mode active building blocks such as operational transconductance amplifiers (OTA), second generation current conveyors (CCII), current-...
متن کاملSynchronization of Time-Delay Chua’s Oscillator with Application to Secure Communication
In this paper, we use a Generalized Hamiltonian systems approach to synchronize the time-delay-feedback Chua’s oscillator (hyperchaotic circuit with multiple positive Lyapunov exponents). Synchronization is thus between the transmitter and the receiver dynamics with the receiver being given by an observer. We apply this approach to transmit private analog and binary information signals in which...
متن کاملLook up Table Based Low Power Analog Circuit Testing
In this paper, a method of low power analog testing is proposed. In spite of having Oscillation Based Built in Self-Test methodology (OBIST), a look up table based (LUT) low power testing approach has been proposed to find out the faulty circuit and also to sort out the particular fault location in the circuit. In this paper an operational amplifier, which is the basic building block in the ana...
